Maxwell Zawatsky (b. Dayton, OH) is a cartoonist and aspiring educator currently based in Vermont. He has a degree in Studio Art (BA), with minors in Art History and Literature from Capital University in Bexley, OH. He has been a recipient of the Ida Jane Aitken Art Scholarship, the Diversity & Inclusion Research Award, and the Boyd Fund for Undergraduate Scholarship, all of which were awarded by Capital University. His work has been presented at Capital's Undergraduate Research Symposium, Mid-America College Art Association (MACAA), the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), Capital University's Schumacher Gallery (Bexley, OH), ROY G BIV Gallery (Columbus, OH), Eastern Michigan University's University Gallery (Ypsilanti, MI), Dream Clinic Project Space (Columbus, OH), and The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery (Burlington, VT).
He creates fictionalized autobiographical comics that highlight the everyday experiences, thoughts, and feelings of himself, his partner, and those around him.
